Large Whale Entanglement Response Q&A in Petersburg
Ed Lyman, Large Whale Entanglement Response Coordinator at the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, will be in Petersburg this week to train and answer questions on disentangling humpback whales. The Petersburg Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) is hosting a Q&A session with Ed this Friday, June 30th at 7 p.m. in the Borough Assembly Chambers. PMMC recognizes that this is the busy summer fishing season, however it is a challenge to get Ed from Hawaii to Alaska. Hopefully in the future his schedule will allow for better timing
Drive Down Dock closures
This year the harbor department will allow the tour ship American Spirit to moor at the face of the Drive Down Dock on ten different occasions through the summer months.
