Boards and Commissions Seek CFEC Nominees
The office of Boards and Commissions are seeking nominees for the Commercial Fishery Entry Commission (CFEC). With the resignation of Commissioner Brown effective December 1, and Commissioner Twomley retiring in March, the need is clear. You need not be an attorney & you cannot be a current CFEC permit holder. Please submit applications here.
Proposed Regulation to all Pots in the C61C Sablefish Fishery
CFEC posted proposed regulations to allow pot gear in the Southern Southeast Inside sablefish fishery (C61C) in response to the October 25th letter from the Board of Fish requesting CFEC conduct a regulatory review of the fishery. If the proposed regulation is adopted, the Board of Fish would take up any regulatory actions under its authority at the 2018 Southeast Finfish meeting. CFEC transferred to ADF&G

Legislative Audit of CFEC
The legislative audit of CFEC is available. The audit was requested to find if efficiencies and cost savings could be achieved by consolidating CFEC into the ADF&G now that the State’s fisheries are stabilized in terms of limited entry.
